Opti-Shield Liquid PPF

Opti-Shield is a hand-applied 4-layer liquid paint protection film by Opti-Coat LLC that builds 30+ microns of sacrificial protection over your factory paint. It bridges the gap between traditional ceramic coating, which is around 1 to 2 microns thick, and traditional film paint protection film, which is around 150 to 200 microns thick. Bryan Car Care installs Opti-Shield as a whole-vehicle treatment by default, no panel-by-panel quotes, no front clip versus full body pricing. Every install also includes Opti-Glass Pro on glass, Opti-Trim Protect on trim, Opti-Coat Pro on wheels and brake calipers, and CARFAX registration.

Opti-Shield is roughly three times thicker than a traditional ceramic coating and provides materially better impact and scratch resistance. It does not require annual maintenance to keep the warranty in force, and damaged sections can be repaired in place by reapplying product to the affected area without polishing into your factory paint. Ceramic coating still has its place, especially for owners who want a slick, hydrophobic finish on a permanent ceramic bond, but Opti-Shield is the right answer when maximum coverage with zero ongoing service intervals is the goal.

Traditional film PPF is a polyurethane sheet cut to fit each panel. It offers the strongest rock chip protection available, but installs leave visible seams and edges, panels are often quoted separately, and old film can yellow, crack, or peel over time. Opti-Shield is a liquid that hand-applies to the entire vehicle with no seams, no edges, and no panel boundaries. It does not yellow, crack, or peel. It is repairable in place. The trade-off is that Opti-Shield is not equivalent to film PPF for direct rock chip protection.

No. Opti-Shield does not require annual decontamination, polishing, or recoating to maintain warranty coverage. Wash and drive. The 30+ microns of sacrificial protection are designed to handle environmental wear without service intervention. This is one of the structural differences between liquid PPF and ceramic coating, and one of the main reasons owners choose this tier.

Opti-Shield carries a $5,000 per claim manufacturer-backed warranty issued by Opti-Coat LLC. The warranty covers environmental etching from water spots, bird droppings, bug splatter, acid rain, industrial fallout, and UV oxidation. It does not cover rock chips, accidents, neglect, pre-existing damage, or unauthorized repairs. Your install is registered in Opti-Coat LLC's national database and can be serviced by any authorized installer in the US or Canada.

Vehicles 5 model years old or newer at the time of our standard 4-layer full-vehicle install qualify for the full 10-year warranty. Vehicles 6 to 10 model years old qualify for a 5-year warranty. Vehicles 11 model years or older are not eligible for warranty coverage. The 10-year warranty applies specifically to the 4-layer full-vehicle configuration that Bryan Car Care installs by default.

Opti-Shield reduces the severity of impacts and handles daily-driver gravel and debris well, but it is not equivalent to traditional film PPF for direct rock chip protection. If your primary concern is maximum impact resistance on the front clip of a vehicle that sees highway gravel daily, traditional film PPF is the right product. Opti-Shield is the right product for whole-vehicle protection with no annual maintenance and no visible install boundaries.

No. Opti-Shield is formulated specifically against UV degradation. It does not contain the plasticizers that cause older film PPF to yellow, and it does not have edges that lift or peel. Aged Opti-Shield does not develop the visible discoloration or cracking that older paint protection film products are known for.

Yes. Damaged sections can be cleaned and have product reapplied to the affected area, restoring protection without removing material from your factory paint. This is one of the structural advantages over both ceramic coating, which requires polishing into the clear coat to address damage, and traditional film PPF, which requires section removal and replacement. Repairs can be performed multiple times over the life of the warranty.

An Opti-Shield install takes 3 to 4 days in our shop. The timeline accounts for paint correction prep, surface decontamination, hand application of all four layers with proper flash time between each, and final inspection. Drop your vehicle off at the scheduled appointment and pick up cured and protected.

Bryan Car Care is an authorized Opti-Shield installer for the greater Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and Spokane market. Opti-Shield is performed at our Post Falls shop at 4133 E. Early Dawn Ave, Unit 104C. Authorized installs are warrantied directly by Opti-Coat LLC.
