Professional Paint Correction in North Idaho and Spokane
Remove swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation with precision machine polishing in a controlled shop environment
What Is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is the process of removing imperfections from your vehicle's clear coat using machine polishing techniques. Swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, dealer wash damage, and water spots all live in the top layer of your paint. Professional correction levels that surface to restore clarity, depth, and gloss.
There are two levels of correction. A single-step enhancement removes 40 to 60 percent of defects and is ideal for newer vehicles or paint in good overall condition. A two-step correction targets 80 to 100 percent defect removal and is the right choice for neglected, heavily swirled, or oxidized paint.
Paint correction requires a controlled shop environment. Proper lighting reveals defects that are invisible in sunlight or garage lighting. Temperature and dust control prevent contamination during the polishing process. Bryan Car Care performs all correction work at our Post Falls shop with LED inspection lighting and climate management for consistent, repeatable results.

Every correction follows a measured, repeatable process designed to deliver consistent results and protect your clear coat.
Paint Depth Readings
We measure clear coat thickness on every panel using a digital paint gauge. This data tells us exactly how much material is available and guides the correction approach for each section of the vehicle.
Test Spot Validation
Before full correction begins, we perform a test spot to validate the right pad and polish combination for your specific paint. This ensures we achieve maximum defect removal without unnecessary material removal.
Panel-by-Panel Correction
Each panel is corrected individually under LED inspection lighting. This controlled approach ensures consistent results across the entire vehicle. We adjust technique and pressure based on the unique condition of each area.
IPA Wipe and Final Inspection
After polishing, we wipe every panel with isopropyl alcohol to strip away polishing oils and reveal the true corrected finish. This step ensures the results you see are real and not masked by filler products.
Before and After Documentation
Every paint correction job is documented with before-and-after video and photos under inspection lighting. You receive a full digital report showing the transformation and paint depth readings for your records.

Common questions about paint correction, our process, and what to expect
Swirl marks and scratches come from improper washing techniques, automatic car washes, dirty towels, and even dealer prep work. Over time, these defects accumulate and dull the finish. Environmental factors like road debris and sand can also leave fine scratches across your paint surface.
It depends on the condition of your paint. A single-step enhancement removes 40 to 60 percent of defects and is ideal for newer vehicles or light swirl marks. A two-step correction targets 80 to 100 percent defect removal and is recommended for heavily damaged, neglected, or older paint. We assess every vehicle before recommending a plan.
Yes. New vehicles often arrive from the factory or dealership with swirl marks, holograms, and fine scratches from transport and dealer prep. Paint correction on a new car removes these defects and prepares the surface for long-term ceramic coating protection.
Paint Enhancement (single-step) typically takes around 24 hours. Protection Plans that include full two-step correction require approximately 72 hours because of the additional polishing stages and multi-layer ceramic coating application with curing time between layers.
No. We take paint depth readings on every panel before starting any correction work. This tells us exactly how much clear coat is available and ensures we remove only the minimum material needed to eliminate defects. Our process is measured and controlled to preserve the integrity of your finish.
When you start with Paint Enhancement, your full investment applies as a credit toward any Protection Plan within 30 days. This lets you experience professional correction results before committing to long-term ceramic coating protection. After the 30-day window closes, the credit expires.
